Underwater Running Challenge in Aid of Breast Cancer Charity

Underwater running challengeH2O Physio held an Underwater Running Challenge on Saturday 13th July, in aid of Breast Cancer Research. The event, which was held at Halfpenny Golf, Health Club & Wellness Spa near Wolverhampton, gave local sports people the chance to try the brand new, pioneering underwater treadmill.

During the event, competitors ran for 5 minutes with the water at knee level and the resistance jets on full, battling it out for the most distance covered. The challenge attracted a whole range of people, from occasional joggers to professional sports people.

“It was much more difficult than I thought and a great experience,” said Becky Sidaway, Fitness Instructor at Active4Less in Wombourne. “I can see why Mo Farah used an underwater treadmill to train for the Olympics.”

The event was a huge success, raising over £4500 for charity whilst giving local sports enthusiasts an extreme workout.
